Competition

The student club supports the business environment at TUL and thus creates a close community of entrepreneurial people.

Competition rules

In a nutshell:

Log in and register at www.sbc-tul.cz by April 30, 2021 (23:59:59 h). By registering, you give your unconditional consent to the conditions of the competition!
The entrant (competitor alone or on behalf of the team) must be at the time of entering the competition: student, innocent, over 18 years of age (hereinafter referred to as the "entrant").
The applicant and possibly other members of the team may take part in the competition, always only within one business proposal.
Participate in SBC events, follow us on social networks and be a member of our community calendar of events at www.sbc-tul.cz.
Send the concept of your business model to info@sbc-tul.cz by June 30, 2021 (23:59:59 h).
Don't forget: send your final projects to info@sbc-tul.cz no later than October 31, 2021.
By submitting your project in all its parts (business model concept and final business project), you agree to the subsequent publication of an abbreviated presentation of your project and your name. You also comment on the issues of processing and protection of personal data (GDPR). www.sbc-tul.cz.
The competition will be guided by experienced coaches, SBC mentors and the main partner of the competition, Lipo.ink
The defense of the projects will take place in November 2021, the expected date will be in the second half of November. The change of date is reserved for the organizers.
The evaluation of the competition will take place in November 2021. The results will be published on the Student Business Club website www.sbc-tul.cz.

Competition concept

It’s a long-distance run, but before you “run out”, you need to stop and think. The same goes for working on your own START-UP business model concept. Don’t be afraid to take paper, pencil, sticky notes and make up. The following rules CAN serve as landmarks at work:

Know yourself! Why do you want to start a business and what is your motivation? What abilities do you have? Do you want to pursue business as your main activity? Do you have the support of your surroundings (family)?

Know the industry! Do you know what market segment you are heading to? Who and why will buy your products or use services? Do you know your competition? How much money and effort do you need to start a business? How long will it take you to get to market?

Consider the legal requirements! Do you mean business seriously? What will be the name of the company and what will be its legal form? Do you know what are the requirements for its registration? What are the right business licenses and permits you need? What insurance do you need? Accounting or tax records?

Start planning! Write a plan for your unique business project. Define briefly and clearly your strategy, tactics and specific activities for its implementation, including key data and deadlines. Get an idea of your budget and cash flow. A small piece of advice, in addition to the expenses of starting a business, also count on financing the operation of the company for at least the first three months of the source of money available from you.

Suggest how to get finance for your business and stick to it! Think realistically and think about the possibilities of financing your business!

Do it! Create an action plan and be specific. Do you have a list of things you need to do to start a business? Do you have spaces, supplies, equipment, tools? Do you need employees - do you have them? Do you have any idea about your prices? How will the customer find out about you? How do you start your business?

By participating in the competition, you will primarily gain valuable experience, but the most successful of you will also receive material and financial rewards.
